Skincare

Caring for your skin before and after any professional treatment plays a vital role in ensuring both the safety and success of your results. Preparing the skin before treatments such as laser or advanced facials, and caring for it afterwards, helps remove surface bacteria, significantly lowering the risk of post-treatment infection.

Properly prepped skin allows active ingredients or treatment energies to penetrate more effectively, ensuring you get the most out of your procedure. A clean, healthy canvas helps minimise potential scarring and supports a faster, smoother recovery. Post-treatment skin is often more delicate. Keeping it clean and protected reduces the chance of irritation or infection. Adhering to aftercare instructions helps the skin heal well and prevents complications. Consistent, careful aftercare is essential for maintaining your results and supporting the long-term health of your skin.

Skin Preparation

Skin preparation for my more advanced resurfacers and chemical peels is usually the same. It consists of a good, hydrating cleanser to suit your skin type, a treatment cleanser that you will use 3 times a week to introduce your skin to an active ingredient, be it AHA or BHA. A dermal hydrator in the shape of hyaluronic acid and a physical mineral SPF.

For anyone with darker skin or clients concerned about pigmentation, I also recommend you use a Tyrosinase inhibitor that will suppress pigment and reduce any chances of stimulating hyperpigmentation during the treatment process.

I recommend you use all of the above for a minimum of 2 weeks prior to any treatment and for anyone with darker skin, 4 weeks prior to treatment.

Skin Maintenance

Maintaining your skin between professional treatment plans is essential for achieving long-lasting, healthy results. A consistent home care routine tailored to your skin type helps to support and extend the benefits of clinical treatments by keeping your skin balanced, hydrated, and protected from environmental stressors.

I’ll create a personalised home skincare plan based on your unique skin needs, treatment goals, and lifestyle, ensuring you use the right products for optimum results.

Monthly maintenance treatments at the clinic also play a crucial role in helping to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and nourish the skin, addressing any emerging concerns before they develop into larger issues.

Together, your custom at-home regimen and regular professional treatments create a synergistic approach that keeps your skin vibrant, resilient, and continuously improving between sessions.
